When a student is enrolled at the Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, the college, the parents and the student make a commitment which is binding on all parties for the complete school year.
1. Our college makes a commitment to do everything possible to transmit a good Christian education to the students. The underlying rationale for, and value of, all the disciplinary requirements find their source in this orientation. The college milieu, which forms a society of its own governed by the common good, provides an environment in which individual students must develop their potential.
2. For their part, parents and students recognize that the authorities of the Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière have the right to see that the school rules are respected, to interpret these the rules and to apply them. Furthermore, parents and students agree to conform to the rules as presented to them, and to collaborate in their application by accepting any sanctions for infractions if the situation arises.
This commitment has two consequences:
1. Our college will only admit students who undertake to satisfy the requirements of work, discipline and distinction all of which are part of a good education.
2. Our college reserves the right to exclude those who are guilty of serious breaches of the rules such as: theft; insubordination; a serious lack of respect for an educator; scandal caused by reprehensible words or actions; the use, sale or possession of alcohol or drugs.
N.B. Each student enrolled at Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière is under the joint legal responsibility of the Director of Studies and the Director of Students.
